Jan. thirteen (UPI) — Following five decades of serving on the Dwelling Ethics Committee, Rep. Trey Gowdy is stepping down from the Dwelling Ethics Committee.

In his resignation letter to Dwelling Speaker Paul Ryan on Wednesday, the South Carolina Republican claimed he would “treasure” his encounter on the Ethics panel but claimed the workload was rigid.

“When I grew to become Chairperson of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform I realized I would not be ready to maintain all other committee assignments to involve Judiciary, Intelligence and Ethics,” Gowdy wrote.”4 committee assignments, which includes a Chairmanship, is a demanding workload.”

Gowdy claimed he would finish out the calendar calendar year and resign pending designation of a substitution.
