Feb. 14 (UPI) — Customers of the Household oversight committee Wednesday opened an investigation into variances among the White Household and FBI’s timelines into the history examine of previous White Household Employees Secretary Rob Porter.
Porter resigned previously this month right after two of his ex-wives accused him of domestic abuse. While Porter denied the allegations, his resignation lifted questions about when the White Household became knowledgeable of them.
Both equally women — Colbie Holderness and Jennifer Willoughy — stated they told the FBI about the alleged abuse when they have been interviewed as portion of Porter’s protection clearance approach.
The Household oversight letter, signed by Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., and sent to White Household Chief of Employees John Kelly, stated testimony by FBI Director Christopher Wray about the history examine appeared to contradict a assertion by White Household push secretary Sarah Sanders.
On Wednesday, Wray stated the FBI accomplished Porter’s protection clearance history investigation in July.
